So as you will notice in HyperOS, Xiaomi has placed plenty of emphasis on having personalisation options in its new interface. Let's begin with All-new personalised Lock screen.

As soon as the Lock screen of the HyperOS launches, it’d not be surprising that one feels as though one was sitting on a couch, reading a magazine and seeing one's face on its cover - when classic designs meet digital technology, turn any photo into a movie cover or poster. The new customisation system can be accessed from the Lock screen itself and has a bunch of options - you can change the clock and the signature, its colours, and add filters, and pick new Lock screen styles.

In HyperOS you can choose between three different Lock screen customisation styles:

• Classic
• Rhombus
• Magazine

Just long press any empty space on your regular Lock screen, and then at the bottom tap Next and boom! You've already entered the Lock screen editor mode!

1. Classic - What's classic never goes out of style.
The Classic Lock screen style displays time, date and weather information. You can add your signature, in addition, the emergency calls, or date, or traditional Chinese calendar, or temperature, or air quality, or sunrise and sunset information, or UV index, or feels like, or wind, or humidity, or air pressure. You’d have several clock and date style options to choose from - what's your favourite?

2. Rhombus - Time is important. Make it count.
The Rhombus Lock screen style displays time, and date. You can take your pick of clock styles and change its colours - there are ten different clock styles to pick from, you can even add Multi-coloured digits effect, and make it truly yours.

3. Magazine - Turn your lock screen into a magazine cover.
The Magazine Lock screen style displays time, and date, and your signature. There are three (max) different clock styles to pick from, and six different alignment options for the signature - the signature will assign based on the option you select. Furthermore, you can change the colours of signature, and clock, and doodles, and background, and apply an additional depth of field effect.

How to customise your Lock screen in Xiaomi HyperOS

• From the Lock screen, tap and hold an empty area of the screen. At the bottom of the screen, tap Next and then Start.

• Swipe up to switch between Lock screen styles. Swipe horizontally to view more personalised templates. There are seven different template styles to choose from.
• Pick your favourite Lock screen style. Tap Customise.

• From this screen, pick a clock type and date and weather option, its colour and font, system wallpaper, filter and depth of field effect. There are six different filters to choose from: Original, Reeded, Ribbed, Prism, Grooves, and Waves. Toggle the Matte effect switch on if you want to add the effect.

• Perform a pinch gesture on the wallpaper to crop the image and get the desired effect.
• Tap Done and then Apply in the top right corner when you've finished making changes.

Please note

• The Classic Lock screen style doesn't support the Depth of field effect.
• Depth of field effect can't be combined with filters. Using one of them will replace the other.
• You can use your local photos and system wallpapers as Lock screen covers. Pick your favourite Lock screen style, tap Customise, and then Wallpaper to choose and then set.
